Sinhala & Tamil New Year Festival

Avurudu is the highlight of our community calendar — a joyful celebration of the Sinhala & Tamil New Year that brings families together from across the Wellington region. Enjoy a full day of traditional games (kotta pora, kana mutti and more), live music and dance performances, the Avurudu Kumari pageant, and a food court packed with authentic Sri Lankan dishes and sweets. Entry is free and everyone is welcome. Bring the whole family for a day of culture, food and fun.
